JUBII THROUGH TIME
Design from 1995 to 2004
When I started at Jubii, we were very young and none of us had designed a portal before. Lucky for us, no one else in the world had done that either. The things that were hot back then in 1995 was Intel 386mx, Windows 3.11 with Wintrumpet, and the cool movie that year was Pulp Fiction, if anyone remembers that. As you can see, the design look very rough for the first years, but gets better all the time.

The very first Jubii design.
As you can see, the Jubii logo was different back then and placed on the rigth. Back then, Jubii was only some thing we did on the side. Jubii was mainly made to show the Danish online users that it was possible to find Danish content on the Internet as we were an ISP back then...

1996
As you can see, Jubii now has banners as we were one of the first sites in Denmark to have banners on our sites. A format that I made that is a little bigger than the half size banner standard IAB, 250 x 60 pixels. Also the famous Jubii logo is online for the first time, another of my creations.

Almost 2 years had to pass before this design was online
Now Jubii was real business. The design begins to mature at this point, and a lot of the following designs are influenced by this design.

2000
A intermedia design
Jubii was at this point one of the biggest brands in Denmark. In this design we tried to add content to the site, like the news section and the weather report. Another big change was our main crossnavigation and combo search area. As you can see, Jubii now is a huge portal with anything from Action to Maps to Music to Shopping. A funny thing that you will notice is that we still have our competitors as links on the frontpage, as a special service to our users.

2001
One of the best designs for Jubii
This design was originally made for something called My Jubii (codename, Jubii 2000) that was to take over the frontpage. But due to the deadline been pushed back all the time we redesigned this to the frontpage. It is clear that the design has matured and is close to beeing final. The navigaton and search is well placed and easy to use, the content area has been reworked and a Jubii section has been added. The login has been placed in the top left conner. In this design, the original banner format of 250 x 60 pixel is abandoned to fit the IAB format of 468 x 60, to cope with international banner campaigns.

2003
A part of Lycos Europe
This is the first time Jubii looks like Lycos. Jubii, Lycos and Spray had untill now had different designs, but it was begining to be harder and harder to deal with 3 designs, since we had many sites that were made by Lycos, Spray or Jubii and then exported to the other portals. Having to deal with 3 very different design made the development time too long and the process to complicated. This design was the longest and most worked through I ever have made. To redesign 3 portals in 9 countreis and get all to accept was a fun challenge.
